Happy New Year 2019




Dear Friends and Family,

Happy New Years from Mendocino. This is our 23rd year of bringing in the New Year together on this beautiful northern coast, sipping champagne in front of the crackling fire and listening to the ocean right outside our window.

I look forward every year up here, reflecting on our past year, and feeling so very blessed. The Year 2018 gave us our 10th grandchild-- Adeline, now 6 months old, with proud parents Joel and Trich and big brothers RJ, age 9 and Dylan, age 7.

We call ourselves The Brady Bunch Squared- both of us with 3 kids, their spouses or partners and 5 grandkids each . . . that makes 22 of our immediate family, plus ourselves!

Chelsea and Joey living in Half Moon Bay with Paige, age 11 and Justin, almost 27 and still the world traveler. Amber and Steve live on the Oregon coast and still are involved with foster care.

Shauna and Evan, with Hailey, age 14 and Logan, age 12 will be moving into their new home in Portola Valley soon. I still can’t believe I have a granddaughter already in high school! Mike and Alisha have their hands full in San Mateo with Carter, age 7 (and the reason I’m not ready to retire), and the twins, Siena and Gemma who will be three this month. We have a blast helping out when we can. Check out our favorite video taken by Uncle Eric home for the holidays.

Eric brought home his boyfriend, Dylan, who was a great addition to our holiday cheer this year. Eric is teaching at the University of Michigan-Flint and tries to come “home” a couple of times each year.

I write these letters each year, knowing holiday letters can be a bit of a bore, but it warms my heart to look back at our year together. We continue to be so very proud of our kids and our grandkids, their accomplishments, and their connection and commitment to family.
